This 12,500 square foot music recording and post facility for one of the largest social media companies in Silicon Valley includes capability for music recording, film / video audio post and content development. The facility is comprised of: an Atmos film and video mix room with adjacent booths for voice, music or a small orchestra; a foley suite with a dual purpose control room for foley recording as well as audio post; and a music studio which is a private suite of rooms including lounge, pantry and private restroom. These major technical spaces are flanked by 11 edit rooms arranged to support each as necessary during the production and post production process; connectivity and flexible interior and acoustic design allows edit rooms to be assigned to workflow as needed. The client’s requirements for a flexible space which could anticipate the growth of future media were carefully met in the architecture and systems planning. The entire facility is interlinked physically via below floor cable tray and conduit, connected to a central machine room. The finishes reference the established standards of the company but are adapted for the specific acoustic requirements of the different spaces.
